What are the standard testing items for athletic shoes?

1. General Testing
Testing Purpose: To ensure that finished shoe testing is conducted under comparable room temperature conditions, samples must be left to rest in a specific environment prior to testing.
Testing Method: Leave samples to rest in a Constant Temperature And Humidity environment for 24 hours, with a temperature of 23±2°C and humidity of 50±5%.
Result Evaluation: Observe whether color change or color transfer occurs. Color change is determined by comparing the tested material with the untreated original material; if the color changes, it is deemed to have undergone color change. Color transfer refers to the transfer of color from one material to another, typically occurring at seams or bonding points between two materials.恒温恒湿实验室

2.Aging Test
Test Purpose: To evaluate the shrinkage and color change of finished shoes and materials during aging in a high-temperature, high-humidity environment.
Test Method: Place the sample in a temperature- and humidity-controlled chamber at 60°C and 95% humidity for 7 days, then allow it to rest at room temperature for 24 hours before evaluation. (One week of hydrolysis testing is equivalent to one year of product lifespan.)
Result Evaluation: Inspect for color migration, color change, and shrinkage. 1. If color migration occurs, the test is deemed a failure. 2. Color change standards vary by material: general mesh fabrics, synthetic leather, and leather must not fall below Grade 4; TPU materials must not fall below Grade 3; transparent rubber must not fall below Grade 3; suede is not evaluated; rust on metal components is not included in the evaluation scope. 3. Shrinkage is evaluated according to the testing standards of the raw materials.黄变测试

3. Flexing Test
Test Purpose: To determine the dynamic flexing resistance of finished shoes.
Test Method: The finished shoes are secured to a flexing machine and flexed continuously for 50,000 cycles.
Result Evaluation: The upper and sole must not delaminate or separate; the material must not crack; the outsole must not crack.

4. Yellowing Test
Test Purpose: To determine the resistance of finished shoes to yellowing.
Test Method: The shoe is cut open along the longitudinal axis, and one half is exposed to 550 watts of ultraviolet light for 2 hours at a temperature of 70°C.
Result Evaluation: Compare with the untested shoe to inspect color changes in each material, and determine the grade using a gray scale color chart. The results must not fall below the individual test standards for each material type.

5. Frosting Test
Test Purpose: To test the possibility of frosting (whitening) in rubber materials and rubber soles.
Test Conditions: Temperature 60°C, humidity 95%, duration 7 days.
Result Evaluation: Remove the sample, let it sit at room temperature for 12 hours, then check the surface of the sample for any white wax-like substances. If present, it is considered frosting and the test is deemed a failure.

6. Shoe Component Tensile Strength Test
Test Purpose: To measure the force that shoe eyelets, shoe holes, heel/tongue straps, decorative plastic components, and other parts can withstand.  
Test Method: Thread a test shoelace through the shoe eyelets and shoe holes. Secure the shoelace and shoe upper in the upper and lower clamps of the Tensile Tester, respectively. Run the tensile tester at a speed of 100 mm/min until the eyelet detaches, the hole ruptures, or the component tears.
Result Evaluation: The maximum tensile force recorded during the test is considered the test result. Standards: Casual shoes: 300N (Newtons); Running shoes and other functional shoes: 320N; Heel and tongue straps: 120N; Decorative components on the shoe upper: 115N; Children's shoes: 250N; Outdoor shoes: 400N.

7. Tensile Strength Test  
Test Purpose: To determine the adhesive strength between the shoe upper and outsole.  
Test Method: Secure the shoe upper and outsole in the upper and lower clamps of the tensile tester, respectively. Operate the tensile tester at a speed of 100 mm/min and record the tensile force required to separate the upper and outsole.
Result Evaluation: The tensile strength between the upper and EVA/Phylon must not be less than 27 N/cm; the tensile strength between the upper and rubber outsole must not be less than 35 N/cm.

8. Post-Washing Tensile Test
Test Purpose: To determine the bond strength of finished shoes or components after machine washing.
Test Method: Place 2–5 finished shoes in a washing machine and wash at 50°C for 8 hours. After washing, remove the samples and allow them to dry naturally at room temperature.
Test Conditions: Conduct tensile testing after washing. Results Evaluation: The tensile strength between the shoe upper and EVA/Phylon must not be less than 20 N/cm; the tensile strength between the shoe upper and rubber sole or other materials must not be less than 25 N/cm.
